Counseling Internships

Counseling is the process of assisting and guiding clients, especially by a trained person on a professional basis, to resolve incredibly personal, social, or psychological problems and difficulties. The main aim of Counselling is thus to create an emotionally safe space and an accepting, caring relationship in which the client can explore, discover and clarify ways of living more satisfyingly and resourcefully. Throughout the counseling process, the responsibility for growth and change remains with the client.

For this, you can pursue an internship. The interns perform supervised individual and group counseling, supervision, crisis intervention, and consultation/outreach. The intern provides psychological assessments, intakes, and appropriate referrals. You may perform other related tasks that are a part of the agency’s operation. The professional staff supervises the work, and a licensed psychologist supervises individual clinical work.
