EJI or commonly known as the Equal Justice Initiative is a non-profit organization that is based in Montgomery, Alabama. The organization provides legal representation to the prisoners who may have been wrongly convicted of the crime, who may have been denied a fair trial, poor prisoners without effective representation. The founder of the company Bryan Stevenson was depicted in the legal drama Just Mercy which is based on his memoir Just Mercy.
