USAID‡s Bureau for Legislative and Public Affairs would like to call talented and goal-oriented students to join its mind-blowing internship program. This is a full-time opportunity that is scheduled to run from August to December.

It will provide interns with experience in five areas such as legislative affairs, press, public affairs, administrative management, and internal communications. This program is very helpful for young students since it will provide real experience and great examples of professional-quality work.

To book your place in this internship, you must be a U.S. citizen who is currently enrolled in a college or university and have a minimum grade point average of 3.0.

Kennedy on 3 November 1961. This organization is dedicated to helping lift lives, build communities, and advance democracy.

Internship Location:

The internship will take place in Washington, D.C.

Internship Duration:

This program requires that all candidates must be able to work full-time with a minimum requirement of 4 days a week, 8 hours per day for five months.

Internship Benefits:

This is an unpaid program however interns will be provided mentorship and guidance, real projects and responsibility that will make them ready for the job. They can also establish good connections with peers and employers.

Eligibility Requirements:

The basic requirements for this position are given below:

  • Be a U.S. citizen (without dual nationality)
  • Be currently enrolled in a college or university
  • Have a minimum grade point average of 3.0
  • Be able to obtain a U.S. Government security clearance at the “Secret” level by passing a background check
  • Possess a general knowledge about U.S. Government agencies and USAID policies, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and computer proficiency
  • Be available full-time with a minimum requirement of 4 days a week, 8 hours per day
