Scripps Research Institute is currently hiring bright, motivated and bold candidates to work as general research interns within its San Diego, California office. Through this program, Scripps targets to attract current students enrolled in a college/university educational program.

The general research intern will work on various projects either independently or with a team in a laboratory or vivarium environment. He/she will also receive occupational experience to develop professional skills and enhance knowledge in the field of research under the supervision of professionals.

Along with valuable experience, skills, mentorship and networking opportunities, this internship will provide interns with a competitive compensation rate of $12.00 hourly to cover expenses.

Eligibility Requirements:

Minimum qualifications:

  • Must be currently enrolled in a college/university educational program
  • Undergraduate students must be enrolled in a relevant engineering program, e.g., computer science, ME, EE, bioengineering or related field with a strong technology background

Preferred qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in a college-level science-based program of studies
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Experience using general laboratory tools preferred
  • Strong math skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English
