Saint Louis Zoo has brought an extremely exciting summer internship opportunity to college students, recent graduates, and individuals with prior college coursework. The duration of the program is six weeks.
This internship is available in three different areas such as animal management, non-animal related, and research. It is designed to provide interns the opportunity to learn about the Zoo’s zoological operations and an understanding of the Zoo’s role in research and conservation.
The program is a great way to develop a new skill set that you will need to start a fruitful career, gain experience that makes you different from your peers, and to enhance career goals.
This program will bring you in daily contact with thousands of children and adults who visit the Zoo each year and give you the opportunity to create lifelong memories and good connections with them.
Internship Location:
Saint Louis, MI will be the chief location.
Internship Duration:
The program requires that the candidates must be able to work minimum for 15 hours and maximum for 20 hours a week for 6 weeks.
Internship Benefits:
This is an unpaid internship however here interns can gain practical experience, develop their basic abilities, advance skills and enhance their career goals through meaningful works, mentorship, and guidance.
Eligibility Requirements:
Candidates, who satisfy stated eligibility criteria, will be hired for this program:
- The minimum age requirement is 18.
- Applicants need not be currently enrolled in college/university, but prior college coursework is required.
- Minimum of 20 hours per week for a minimum of six weeks for internships (for college credit).
- Minimum of 15 hours per week for a minimum of six weeks for externships (non-credit).
- All positions are unpaid with no housing provided.
- All individuals completing an internship or externship in an animal area will be asked to submit a negative TB test result by the start of their internship
