Birmingham Museum of Art has an immediate need for candidates for Education/Teacher and School Services Internship. To participate, you need to be an advanced undergraduate (junior/senior), or graduate student, or recent graduate.

This internship is for both fall and spring season and will run approximately 3 months. The main purpose of this program is to assist the manager of school and teacher services in the preparation of teacher resource materials.

During the fall and spring semesters, interns will work on specific projects and also be introduced to all facets of museum work. Additionally, they can gain practical work experience and a chance to interact with their peers and Museum staff.

Birmingham Museum of Art is one of the finest regional museums located in the United States. It has the most unique as well as a diverse collection of more than 27,000 paintings, sculptures, prints, drawings, and decorative arts dating from ancient to modern times.

Internship Location:

This program will take place in Birmingham, Alabama.

Internship Duration:

The duration of this internship is 3 months, with fall and spring start dates.

Internship Benefits:

This program is unpaid however interns will get practical work experience and a chance to interact and make the connection with their peers and Museum staff. They will also receive mentorship, training, real projects, and insight into the museum.

  • Highly organized with the ability to handle multiple tasks at once
