The role provides students with the opportunity to apply academic knowledge and skills in a professional environment and to support/promote the students‡ career goals through contacts with professionals in their fields of study. The intern experience enables students to participate in professional activities for Volvo Group by working on important and innovative projects. Intern are structured learning experiences where interns and our full time professionals work together on projects within their selected organizations. The intern assignments allow students to integrate knowledge and skills in manners that are mutually beneficial to the students and Volvo Group.

Who are we?

As a remanufacturing operation, we receive Powertrain Components that have exceeded their initial life cycle and restore them to their original performance specifications. The Reman center is committed to protecting the environment, and has received multiple environmental awards.

What is the job?

Much of a Volvo intern/co-op‡s workday will be spent assisting management with activities related to the business area they support. You should be able-bodied, as the job may include extended periods of sitting, standing and walking.

What will your day-to-day look like? You will:

Utilizing Enterprise Resource Planning system to validate, update part set ups, accounting groups, unit costing, part usage rates
Price matching between Volvo systems (GPS and IFS)
Validation of alternate components for product structures in ERP system
Work with Parts Shipping and Receiving Supervisor to update material movements to ensure compliance with Volvo Production System principles and Update Work Instructions
Support Supply Chain with operation of the business as required
Who are you?

You ideally have completed at least 2 years of college in Business, Engineering, Management or Supply Chain Management degree program. To fit our ideal profile, you will be highly motivated and possess strong interpersonal skills. You are able to support the company within all levels of the organization. You are able to apply your knowledge on the job and communicate your knowledge to individuals within the organization. You have the ability to manage multiple tasks and use analytical and critical thinking skills. You are located in the Harrisburg/Middletown area and are able to commute to work throughout your internship/co-op. Candidates must have completed 30 credit hours prior to the start of the internship.
Spring interns may work up to 30 hours per week and must be enrolled as full-time student for the fall semester.
Applicants must have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.75.

For all intern and co-op positions, the hourly range is set at $16.00 – $46.00. The hourly rate for these roles is determined by several factors including, but not limited to, geographic location, academic classification, and degree seeking area of study.
