Our interns partner with teams across DISH working to drive our latest game-changing innovation. Our internship is a 10-week, in-person experience that is paid hourly with eligible overtime. Interns are given a business project(s) to complete over the summer and present their results to leadership and their peers. DISH provides each intern with a manager and a mentor to support them with the execution of their project.

All opportunities are located in Denver, CO unless otherwise stated.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

As an intern at DISH you could be supporting any of our business lines:

ML Intern: You will develop robust tools for Data Analysts and Data Scientists to help them rapidly deliver end-to-end solutions to business problems. Your solutions will have a significant impact on our multi-billion business. We need more than model and maintenance, we need your creativity, passion, and curiosity to build one a kind toolset for the unique problems that we solve.

  • Write production-grade readable code
  • Deploy and monitor models in production
  • Build scalable and well tested infrastructure for delivering clear business insights from a variety of data streams
  • Develop proof of concept, prototypes, and analytical solutions for batch processing and streaming solutions
  • Develop packages and tools to empower our analysts and scientists
  • Communicate effectively with the team to understand their needs and convey results

AI Intern: You will lead the development and implementation of models and decision. This position plays a critical role in advancing the state of descriptive and predictive analytics, statistical forecasting, mathematical optimization, econometric modeling, automation, and build-out of the organization‡s data infrastructure to support advanced analytics.

Developing effective ways to do various analyses like customer segmentation, churn prediction and analysis, LTV prediction, and otherwise build Machine Learning models using large volumes of customer and device data with the intention of gaining actionable insights and making data-driven decisions
Collaborate closely with other team members including data scientists, engineers, and quality analysts to make sure the team is progressing as a cohesive unit and producing results. Provide technical guidance to other team members when required

Help multiple audiences – engineers, product managers, executives – dig into and understand the output of the team‡s analyses and models using notebooks (e.g. Rmd, Jupyter), visualization, presentations etc.
Constantly look for and adopt new techniques and tools to ensure the team stays at the forefront of modern large-scale model-building and analysis techniques

Skills, Experience, and Requirements

Experience:

  • Currently enrolled in Bachelor or Master‡s degree program

Requirements:

  • Cumulative GPA 3.2 or higher
  • Fully onsite in location
  • Graduation Period: December 2024 – August 2025
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment screen including a transcript evaluation, reference check, criminal background check, and possible drug test

Salary Range

  • Compensation: $22.00/Hour – $30.00/Hour
