Start and end dates for this Internship are during Summer 2024 (3 months) at IBM Research. At IBM

Your Role and Responsibilities
This is for a 2024 summer internship with the following start dates: May – August or June – September for quarter system schools.
The Exploratory Computer Sciences program at IBM Research is seeking candidates who will contribute to foundational research topics in AI and Computational Neuroscience.

Candidates should possess a background in Computer Sciences with graduate-level studies in one of:
• AI/ML: AI architectures, foundation models, decision support, reasoning, reinforcement learning, multi-agent modelling.
• Computational Neuroscience
• Modelling neural dynamics

Candidates must be willing to work in any of the following locations: USA (Yorktown Heights, NY, Almaden, CA),

Required Technical and Professional Expertise
• Must have a background in one of:
o AI/ML: AI architectures, foundation models, decision support, reasoning, reinforcement learning, multi-agent modelling.
o Computational Neuroscience
o Modelling neural dynamics
• Must have Graduate level experience in conducting research in one or more of the above topics
• Must have a Track record of co-authoring technical reports and publications
• Must have strong programming skills in one or more commonly used languages such as: Java, JavaScript, Python, C++, Etc.
• Must have strong communication skills
• Must be a current Ph.D. candidate

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise
• Experience with machine learning environments (e.g., R, Scikit-learn, Theano, PyTorch, etc.),
• Contributions to open-source contributions
• Experience in doing software development as part of a research and development team
