With a corporate mission of Helping Surgeons Treat Their Patients Better™, Arthrex has pioneered the field of arthroscopy and develops more than 1,000 innovative products and procedures each year that support all aspects of orthopedics. The Orthopedic Research Department is based in Naples, FL and encompasses the Clinical, Biomechanical and Biomaterial Teams. The individual chosen for this position will work for the Clinical Research Team to support ongoing research studies, maintain study documents and work with data management.  The individual should be progressing toward an associated field such as business or healthcare and interested in pursuing a career in clinical research.

This internship will run from May 2024 – August 2024. The ideal candidate will have the availability to work 40 hours per week at our Naples, FL facility.

Main Objective:

To assist Clinical Research department with summer projects and daily activities of managing Arthrex initiated clinical studies.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Draft and distribute meeting minutes for clinical research team meetings.
Schedule clinical research team meetings and other meetings as needed for projects.
Perform clinical site data review per study schedule and data review for site payments.
Complete research ethics training and other relevant trainings including HIPAA and GCP.
Develop and complete a summer project, which may include assisting with developing a work instruction, checklist or other research process tool and/or assist with research protocol development.
Perform and complete electronic database files for studies.
Assist with Institutional Review Board (IRB) submission drafting and review site documentation, including subject informed consent and initial study application.
This is an in-office position located in Naples, FL; it is not a remote position.

Education and Experience:

Progress towards a college degree in a related field required, preferably in Business or Health Science. A senior preferred. (Students who have recently graduated are only eligible to work as an intern/co-op up to six months from their graduation date.
Clinical research experience preferred.
Knowledge and Skill Requirements/Specialized Courses and/or Training:

Basic to intermediate computer skills. Be able to follow written and verbal direction.

Machine, Tools, and/or Equipment Skills:

PC; Familiarity with Microsoft Outlook; PowerPoint; Word and Excel. Fax; Scanner.
