Job Summary:

As a Supply Chain Intern at Dollar Tree, you will have the opportunity to gain practical experience and insights into the complex world of retail supply chain management. Under the guidance and mentorship of experienced professionals, you will play a critical role in supporting various aspects of the supply chain, including inbound logistics, outbound logistics, and engineering. This internship is designed to provide you with hands-on experience in supply chain operations, strategic planning, and cross-functional collaboration, preparing you for a successful career in supply chain management. At the end of the program, each intern will be responsible for a presentation centered on what they learned and a real-world challenge/opportunity they helped to solve.

Responsibilities:

1. Collaborate with vendors and internal stakeholders to track and manage product orders, ensuring timely delivery and quality assurance.
2. Participate in the evaluation and selection of transportation and logistics providers to optimize distribution efficiency.
3. Support the analysis of supply chain data, such as transportation costs, lead times, and service levels, to identify opportunities for improvement.
4. Assist in coordinating and monitoring the movement of goods from suppliers to distribution centers and stores.
5. Participate in cross-functional meetings and projects to support supply chain initiatives and process improvement efforts.
6. Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in supply chain management to contribute innovative ideas and recommendations.

Qualifications:

1. Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
2. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to collect, organize, and interpret supply chain data.
3. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
4. Excellent attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
5. Strong verbal and written communication skills.
6. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and build effective relationships.
7. Familiarity with supply chain concepts and practices.
9. Self-motivated and eager to learn about supply chain operations in the retail industry.
