Museum of Science is currently inviting talented and passionate veterinary technician students to join its live animal care center staff as interns in Boston, MA. This is a 5 to 7 weeks long position with 3 to 4 days per week work schedule.
The key responsibilities of this role will consist of general upkeep of the LACC, animal observations, diet preparation, enclosure cleaning, record keeping, animal enrichment, and training practices.
This program is educational, rewarding, at the same a great chance to increase knowledge and gain practical experience while learning the daily husbandry routines of both programs and exhibit animals.
The Museum of Science is a science museum and indoor zoo in Boston, Massachusetts. It was founded in 1830 and has become one of Boston’s leading cultural institutions. It is also an accredited member of the Association of Zoos and Aquariums and it houses over 100 animals.
Selected candidates will work in Boston, MA-based office.
This program involves the commitment of 5-7 weeks.
This is an unpaid internship although interns will receive other perks like free parking in the Museum garage, close proximity to the Green Line, free admission, discounts in the Museum store and caf and much more.

- Currently a Veterinary Technician Student
- Interested in pursuing an animal-oriented career
- Some background experience with animals is desirable, but not required.
- Willingness to get dirty.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Demonstrated communication skills
