Avionics Engineering and Technology is hiring an Intern for our Employee Programs team. This position will report to the HR Director for the engineering organization and support a broad array of programming for our student employees. Avionics employs hundreds of interns and co-ops annually. This role will provide support to the employee programs team by planning, organizing, and coordinating events and activities in support of a positive and engaging student employee experience. The selected intern can expect to develop skills in: Project Management, Marketing, Communication, Public Relations, Event Planning, Human Resources.

This is a hybrid role based out of our Cedar Rapids, IA site location. The identified candidate must be able to be regularly onsite in Cedar Rapids facilities and community venues as required; may be eligible for relocation.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provides project management support to help plan, coordinate and execute events within Avionics
  • Engineering & Technology for the Student Program. Ensure engagement and coordination with Campus Programs.
  • Support and drive key student program initiatives related to HR projects, recruiting, the student employee experience, on-boarding, and diversity and inclusion.
  • Organize and lead student employee events in Cedar Rapids
  • Communicate effectively with customer and vendor interfaces, student employees, and various levels of leadership.
  • Collaborate with Human Resources Business Partners, Employee Communications, Talent
  • Acquisition, Engineering and other groups to publicize and promote engineering employee programs organize, gather, and analyze information for a variety of projects.

Basic Qualifications

  • Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and student must be pursuing a Bachelor’s or advanced degree in an applicable discipline.
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access the information under this program/contract

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint) and Google (G-Mail, Calendar, Docs, Sheets, Drive, Slides) Suites
  • Demonstrated experience leveraging strong communication, teaming and results oriented skills.
  • Prior experience communicating across teams and platforms in a professional setting.
  • Demonstrated project management leadership with accomplishments in a related field.

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products.

Hybrid: Employees who are working in Hybrid roles will work regularly both onsite and offsite.  The ratio of time working onsite will be determined in partnership with your leader.

Remote: Employees who are working in Remote roles will work primarily offsite (from home).  An employee may be expected to travel to the site location as needed.
