Job Description

We are looking for short term Information Technology assistant to help in managing some of the day to day cybersecurity tasks at SSM. This is a 3-month assignment where the Interns will work directly with the CyberSecurity professionals performing complex analysis on real security events. This is a 20 hour per week paid position with high expectations.
Candidate requirements are below:
Working toward or have an I.T related degree, such as
Information Technology
Computer Science
Computer Engineering
Electrical/Electronic engineering
Management Information System
Trustworthy, self-directed and motivated to complete specified tasks.
Follow detail procedures and adhere to corporate policies.
Basic understanding of IPV4 – including the following:
IP Addresses and subnets
Well known services and ports
TCP versus UDP

Basic understanding of networking – including the following:
Routed Networks, DNS, DHCP, LAN, ACL, DMZ
Basic understanding of workstations in a Microsoft domain :
Host hardening, Patching, Domain vs Workgroup, Active directory, Group policy
Basic understanding of IT security terms such as:
Confidentiality, Integrity, and Availability as it pertains to data.
Authentication, Authorization, and Accountability
Least privilege, Separation of Duties, and Need to know
Risk, threat, vulnerability, exploit, and attack vectors
Denial of Service and Distributed Denial of Service
Basic understanding of IT security technologies, such as: Switches and Routers, Firewalls, Antivirus, Intrusion Detection System, Intrusion Prevention System, Aggregated logging

Basic understanding of network troubleshooting: Identify, probable cause, test, develop plan, verify and documentation,Ping, Traceroute Nslookup

Preference will be given to candidates who are:
Completed or pursuing network/security certification such as:
Comptia A+
Comptia Network+
Cisco CCNA
Comptia Security+
Candidate with a 3.5 GPA or higher
