The PACCAR Technical Center is looking for an engineering intern interested in Powertrain Systems, integration and development on medium and heavy duty trucks. This positions primary tasks include supporting in vehicle testing, data analysis, application research and supporting engineering tasks in the Powertrain Systems team for PACCAR North America.

The PACCAR Technical Center provides engineering excellence to the truck, engine, and winch divisions of PACCAR Inc through innovative product development and testing. The Technical Center is located in the Skagit Valley about 65 miles north of Seattle, Washington.
Job Functions / Responsibilities
Support the powertrain team with in vehicle testing, data gathering and technical analysis
Use engineering principles to develop test procedures for targeted powertrain performance testing.
Support powertrain development team with simulation and analysis
Work with Kenworth and Peterbilt to analyze vehicle sales and application data to drive powertrain simulation configurations and priority
Supports initiatives to improve calibration and testing methods for higher efficiency and effectiveness
Required Qualifications & Skills
Technical knowledge of automotive powertrain components and software, and their application to heavy-duty class 5-8 trucks
Effective communicator and collaborator in a multi-cultural environment.
Flexibility to changing business and program demands.
Ability to effectively work in an engineering team
Preferred Qualifications & Skills
Strong Computer Skills
Excellent communication skills required
Excellent Microsoft Office skills required
Knowledge of Matlab software and scripting
Currently enrolled in a BS program in appropriate technical field required
