Description North Point Defense is looking for an Information Assurance Intern to join its growing team of scientists and engineers, developing complete systems and software applications for our DoD and commercial customers. The IA Intern will assist and support the Information Assurance team with assessments, risk mitigation strategies and technical inspections, among other things. The ideal candidate will be able to contribute on cross-functional teams and deliver solutions to our customers. Requirements Candidates selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information (Security Clearance). US Citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance. Experience with Linux and Windows system administration. Basic knowledge of networking. Preferred experience includes topics or technologies such as: SIEM NIDS/HIDS Log analysis Patch management / flaw remediation DISA STIGs Configuration management Vulnerability assessment Incident response Knowledge of NIST SP 800-171, NIST SP 800-53, and/or NIST RMF. Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information (Security Clearance). A security clearance is a determination by the United States Government that a person or company is eligible for access to classified information. The term “eligibility for access” means the same thing as security clearance and is used in Government record systems and by Government personnel security specialists.
