Job Description

NC State Strength & Conditioning is accepting applications for voluntary internship positions for the 2020 Spring Term. This is a semester-long position that will begin on January 6th and conclude May 1st, 2020. Chosen candidates will be immersed in the collegiate sports performance experience and be exposed to daily implementation of performance programs run by full-time staff, staff projects involving data collection and analysis, yearly program planning, athletic testing and evaluation, and a continuing education curriculum. Responsibilities – Complete the internship curriculum: Including classroom sessions, coaching demonstrations, readings, presentations, and special projects – Assist the Strength & Conditioning staff in implementing performance programs – Assist in facility maintenance, cleaning, and upkeep

Minimum Qualifications:

Minimum of high school diploma or GED. Currently pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree. – Current First Aid / CPR / AED certified – Previous experience in formal exercise instruction – Currently pursuing certification of National Strength and Conditioning Association certification (CSCS) Applicants should be working towards an undergraduate or graduate degree with an emphasis in the Sport Science field (i.e. exercise physiology, biomechanics or equivalent discipline) – Current First Aid / CPR / AED certified – Ability to commit to at least 20 hours per week
