What you will do 
This position is responsible for the implementation and support of manufacturing engineering directives into production. It will also require participation in global programs such as JCMS, Quality and Continuous Improvement activities. The position may require the completion of JCMS training modules and executing projects based on those principles.
How you will do it: 
Support and optimize assembly production using various metrics to target and implement improvements.
Support and optimize fabrication production by reducing planned and unplanned downtime.
Support Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) in production.
Support and Participate in Kaizen event(s).
Support facility layout and design; equipment relocation and layout optimization projects.
Completing 5‡s events and audits showing improvement in fabrication and assembly areas.
Execute a Quality Improvement project.
Other duties may be assigned.
What we look for 
Required Qualifications: 
Currently enrolled in an Undergraduate or Graduate Industrial/Manufacturing Engineering program or related field in the Wichita area.
Ability to work 20 hrs. a week for duration of program.
Proficiency in a Windows operating environment, including email and Microsoft Office software.
Effective and professional interpersonal, communication and organization skills.
Basic statistical knowledge and ability to apply statistics to process improvement projects.
Ability to exercise influence without authority and make decisions.
Mechanical ability or background is preferred for working directly with fabrication equipment.
CAD Skills (3D and/or 2D) are preferred.
U.S. citizen or legal right to work in the U.S.
