Job: SMG Supply Analyst Intern
Location: Santa Clara, CA 95052
As an SMG Supply Analyst Intern you will work with a wide range of stakeholders to make decisions with a large impact on Intel. These include being responsible for setting product inventory and supply strategies, managing customer supply plans, and influencing the build plan and supply chain strategy.
You will be part of the Client Computing Group Operations (CCG Ops) team, a part of Intel’s Business Management Group (BMG). CCG Ops works across a number of stakeholder groups and is responsible for setting and executing product platform strategies, analyzing market insights, forecasting demand, and managing revenue and consumption for Intel’s Client Computing (CCG) product line designed for Personal Computers, such as Notebooks and Desktops.
This is primarily a role-based internship, but may include an additional project-based element depending upon the needs of the business.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Setting and executing product platform strategies, owning product supply and aligning supply against demand.
Drive product supply strategy, and determine regional/customer supply allocation through both monthly & weekly processes.
Set monthly build strategies at the product family level, act as the primary “voice” of the customer to the supply strategy/ manufacturing teams.
Develop influential relationships and collaborate with supply planning and customer account teams.
Provide direction on tactical and strategic SKU mix requirements within your product families.
Analyze relevant billings, forecast, and trending data to make data-backed supply decisions.
Analyze market trends and utilize customer insights to provide demand forecast recommendations.
Utilize market analysis and roadmap knowledge to make and drive recommendations on supply. strategies to management team and work with product planning teams to implement.
Drive drain and excess consumption strategies and discussions on high-inventory products with manufacturing, product planning, internal pricing teams and customer account teams.
Understanding the impact of your products and how they fit into the overall strategic goals of Intel.
A successful candidate will demonstrate:
Interest in working in operations – knowledge of supply chain processes and inventory management.
Relevant academic/professional experience in corporate strategy, marketing, sales, business operations, or business analytics.
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills and ability to collaborate with business partners at all levels.
Strong analytical and data management skills and the ability to work through complex/ambiguous business scenarios to influence decision making.
Passion for technology and industry knowledge is a plus.
Must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Experience listed below would be obtained through a combination of your school work/classes/research and/or relevant previous job and/or internship experiences.
Must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher
Must currently be pursuing an undergraduate Bachelor’s Degree in business/management, operations/supply chain, business/data analytics, or similar major.
Must have the required degree or expect the required degree between fall 2020 and Spring 2021.
6+ months experience in Excel and PowerPoint.
Must possess permanent U.S. work authorization. This position is open to U.S. Workers Only. A U.S. Worker is someone who is either a U.S. Citizen, U.S. National, U.S. Lawful Permanent Resident, or a person granted Refugee or Asylum status by the U.S. Government. Intel will not sponsor a foreign national for this position.
SAP knowledge is a plus.
