Job: AI Reserach Intern
Location: Palo Alto, CA
EY AI Lab is looking for creative postgraduate students (Master and PhD students in computer science, engineering or related fields) who are passionate about emerging topics of artificial intelligence and machine learning to join us for a summer internship. The research summer interns would work with AI Lab’s scientists and software engineers in creating innovative AI solutions and working on the frontiers of artificial intelligence and machine learning to solve challenging business problems. The summer research intern should be able to conceptualize, research and implement prototype of AI solutions for solving challenging technical problems.
EY AI Lab is part of EY Global Innovation with the mission of creating innovative AI technology and products that transform the EY business and the industry. The position is based in Palo Alto, CA, and reports to the AI Science Lead.
Essential Functions of the Job:
Design, experiment and implement various AI and deep learning algorithms to create proof of concepts (PoCs) for AI-based solutions.
Work closely with scientists, engineering and domain experts to build AI-based capabilities.
Document the result of work in form of disclosures, patent applications and publications.
Works independently and collaborates effectively as part of a team of AI scientists and software engineers.
Knowledge and Skills Requirements:
The summer research intern should have a great understanding of machine learning and deep learning areas. The candidate is expected to have a strong programming skill, and experience in machine learning open source libraries. Familiarity and prior experience in one or more of the following technical areas is a plus:
Text Analytics and Natural Language Processing, Sequence Labeling
Deep learning, recurrent neural networks, convolutional neural networks
Machine Learning, Probabilistic and Statistical Learning Methods
Emerging topics in artificial intelligence, intelligent systems, conversational bots, and knowledge representation and reasoning
Strong programming experience in one or more of Python, Java, C/C++, C#.
Recognized expertise in an artificial intelligence and machine learning applications as evidenced by relevant education and publications.
The location is based in Palo Alto, with no travel expectation.
Master or PhD students in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering or related fields (statistics, applied math, computational neuroscience)
