The Esurance Internship Program is a 12 week summer program offering students an opportunity to explore our culture, gain business expertise, and provide innovative solutions to enhance our organization. We’re looking for a Growth Analytics Intern to join our dynamic team of individuals who are committed to making insurance surprisingly painless! What our Analytics team is all about:
Esurance has created a centralized data science & analytics (DSA) group that is responsible for helping business units make objective decisions using data. The group supports overall business operations by delivering critical analytical insights and in-depth consultative analyses. The Growth Analytics team looks over customer churn/retention performance and works on initiative to improve life time and profitability matrices.
What we’ve accomplished:
We exploited our rich data repositories, analytics frameworks and business acumen to find growth optimization opportunities, while engaging cross-functionally with various business functions including Product, Marketing, Customer Experience and Sales & Service. Some of the highly impactful use cases include introducing innovative billing flexibility options, implementing model based approach to marketing and deriving competitive intelligence.
What we’re working on:
In addition to continuing to build upon our understanding of the competitive landscape, we are currently working on using analytics and data science capabilities to help improve price transparency to the customers, which has a huge upside to customer retention and satisfaction. Another growth opportunity we are exploring is to make the quote flow leaner and targeted.
What you’ll do:
As a Growth Analytics Intern, you will collaborate with other analysts and data scientist professionals on several projects, a valuable opportunity to gain hands-on industrial experience for someone with an analytical career focus. You will work closely with senior team members with the following responsibilities:
Support retention team in bigger initiatives with data fetching, cleaning and finding trends in data
Proactively identifying and summarizing key insights from data and most effective way to put that in action
Opportunity to learn more about data operations
First cohort runs from 5/18/2020 – 8/7/2020 for semesters students
Second cohort runs from 6/15/2020 – 9/4/2020 for quarters students
What we’re looking for:
Candidates in a Masters or PhD program are strongly preferred.
Minimum GPA: 3.4
Demonstrated a strong interested in learning data mining/analytics and wants to purse carrier in this field.
Strong knowledge of SQL
Strong knowledge of one or more data manipulation languages such as Oracle, Python, R, Excel preferred
High aptitude for problem solving preferred
Familiarity with Data visualization tools like Tableau
