Under direct supervision, interns will assist and learn all aspects of horizontal construction by optimizing resources and minimizing costs.
Support the Sully-Miller safety culture by ensuring company strategic initiatives are meet by safety, environmental performance, and efficiency
Ensure continual compliance with, OSHA and EPA regulations
Attending pre-bid meetings and bid openings
Supports the planning and estimating stage of projects to ensure the most efficient, safe and economical form system are incorporated into the project design.
Works closely with the project team monitoring the safety, cost and scheduling of construction projects
Effectively manage the work environment to ensure safety, environmental, regulatory and production targets are met
Assists the project team in establishing the sequential steps involved in all processes with the scope of the project, and adapts schedules and work tasks accordingly.
Develops and maintains customer relationships to enhance company’s ability to procure projects, reduce risk, and ensure operational efficiency
Qualifications and Skills Required
Enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program such as Civil, Construction Management, or related filed
Previous construction or intern experience preferred
Basic math skills with ability to calculate and analyze data
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Good organizational skills
A tendency to take the initiative
The ability to work well with all levels of the organization
A mindset for making continuous improvements of department processes
Talk and hear
Use hands and fingers
Stand, walk, and reach with arms and hands
Climb, balance, stoop, kneel and crouch
See well (either naturally or with correction)
