Job Summary:  

The Internship will shadow Sales Account / Account Managers roles and responsible related to commercial relationship with new and existing customers, along with business development on new potential customer opportunities.  Support the development of sales strategies, monitoring LRP profitability, growth and market penetration.  The internship will support and monitor many Sales activities from: customer portals, tracking of market changes; volumes, pricing files with raw materials, establishing growth and exiting strategies to name a few.  Responsible for heling the coordination with sales team‡s team building events, support building business internal and customer presentations and ensuring consistent customer formats.

Job Duties:

Responsible for supporting all aspects of commercial tracking of customers portals, downloading Purchase Orders, validation of contracts and applying through BorgWarner Workflow processes.
Support the sales team day to day sales activity with new and existing customers.
Seeks out opportunities with internal processes improvements, new customer opportunities and evaluating strategies of canceling / discontinuing projects / parts with low / no margins.
Assists in the development of annual sales plan and provides feedback on anticipate customer orders.
Understands the automotive industry, market, and competition in order to provide the correct BorgWarner product to the customer.
Increases profitability on current projects/applications and seeks out new opportunities with existing customers.
Job Requirements & Skills:

Minimum automotive experience
Ideal candidate is seeking bachelor‡s in business, Sales, Marketing, Engineering or related field or relevant work equivalent
Works under general supervision
Possesses advanced level of knowledge of the organization‡s policies, products, and/or services, including the engineering principles and specifications of assigned products
High level knowledge of the market trends and the implications of those trends for the industry, customers, markets, and competition

Work Requirements and Conditions:

This position is located in Auburn Hills, MI office, with very little to no travel
Equipment used: Standard Office Equipment
Lifting requirements: Standard Office Lifting Requirements in addition to BorgWarner and customer product Up to 50+ lbs
Safety Equipment used (PPE): As defined for this job may include safety glasses, safety shoes, hearing protection and other personal safety equipment per your specific assignments and locations
This position will adhere to Global Star Safety Program, including safety rules, practices and training as outlined in the BorgWarner PTC Safety Policy Manual, which includes the use of equipment, protective devices, or clothing that the employer requires. This individual will work in manners that stress the importance of preventing accidents and illnesses. He/she must take every precaution reasonable in the given circumstance for the protection of themselves and coworkers. In addition, he/she is responsible for reporting all injuries and/or possible dangerous situations, incidents, or occurrences to the immediate supervisor.
