Assurant is currently hiring for a Technical Writer Business Analyst Intern!
The Technical Writer Business Analyst analyzes, designs, produces, and maintains content of basic to high complexity to regarding IT functions, services, technologies, applications, projects and processes and translate from technical-speak to business terms that are easily consumed by business customers. This role will also help manage content gathered regarding the IT customer experience, develop content and marketing material to help tell Assurant story and improve communications with business customers while contributing towards the continuous improvement goals and objectives.
Primary Job Accountabilities/Responsibilities
Develop new and maintain existing content/documentation for Assurant Flood Solutions support team activity, Project(s) Updates, Key Accomplishments, Process Mapping, and Business Updates to be published on content and knowledge management systems. (75%)
Perform interviews and research to generate necessary inputs to complete task and content analyses. Determine appropriate outcomes/outputs. Perform task and content analyses to determine criticality of content, content categorization, content hierarchy and sequencing, and appropriate writing framework. (10%)
Works collaboratively with business customers, project staff, and subject matter experts to gain and maintain understanding of customer feedback, projects for news items, Executive updates, and services offerings
Assist, develop/administer, provide direction/recommendations and implement within the Content Management tool or standard power-point presentation templates content for marketing of services offerings, success stories and operational metric reporting that are easily consumable from business customer (15%)
Currently enrolled in a 4 or 2 year degree program in English, Communications, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
Requires strong working knowledge of various software programs including: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint and Content Management, MS.
Requires 1 years of technical writing experience or comparable business experience.
Requires 1 year of developing marketing approach and materials
Knowledge of technical writing models and principles and a demonstrated ability to apply them to the design and development of content/documentation which meets the needs of a diversity of readers is preferred.
Knowledge of technology processes, functions, operations, customer service, and software
Requires strong verbal communication skills in order to work with internal customers, subject matter experts, and project teams.
Requires demonstrated ability to translate and transfer knowledge content from a subject matter source to a defined user/audience.
Requires demonstrated knowledge of task and content analysis techniques.
Requires strong/excellent writing and proofing skills.
Requires knowledge of task and content analysis, web based content design and delivery, and usability testing
