The Student Success Innovations team in the Office of the University Provost is seeking a management intern to support the implementation of student-facing communication technologies like two-way texting, live chat, and automated chatbots. The management intern would collaborate with team leaders to:

Assist in responding to student concerns escalated from chat and chatbot systems
Assist in the creation of escalation processes to route student issues to other university departments
Assist in implementing and evaluating new communication channels
Assist in building a knowledge base of answers to student questions
Assist in supporting existing student service technologies like Salesforce Case Management

Essential Duties

Serves in an intern capacity and may perform the following tasks with a close support, collaboration, and supervision:
Conduct independent research into university policies, processes and technical capabilities
Assist in developing new policies and procedures
Document user needs, functional and technical decisions, and business processes
Assist in administrative tasks relevant to maintaining a university-wide use base
Assist in the coordination of complex projects
Perform other duties as assigned
Effectively manage multiple priorities in a dynamic work environment
Aides data management, data collection, analysis, and development of reports

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in a related field; OR, any equivalent combination of education and/or experience from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.

Desired Qualifications

Ability to perform effectively as a member of a team
Ability to work in an environment subject to tight deadlines and potentially changing or conflicting priorities
Ability to explain complex processes and ideas to diverse audiences through spoken, written and visual communication
Experience in higher education, counseling or student support
Experience in student or public-facing communication
Experience with customer service (CRM), communication, or reporting technologies
Knowledge of research methods
Knowledge of technical writing and/or process diagramming and documentation
Knowledge of ASU’s organizational structure and/or higher education administration

Working Environment

Activities are performed in an environmentally controlled office setting
Activities include evaluating information and interfaces that are primarily visual, using computer workstations and mobile devices
May be required to travel moderate distances on campus and between campuses to perform work
Occasional bending, reaching, lifting, pushing and pulling up to 25 pounds
Regular activities require the ability to quickly change priorities, which may include resolution of conflicts
Regular activities require the ability to clearly communicate
