JOB TITLE: Intern

REPORTS TO: Manager

JOB PURPOSE: To provide support and assistance to underwriting counsel and the underwriting business units as these groups may require, including performing data and legal research and analysis and assisting with the processing of various underwriting transactions.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Under the Supervision of the Chief Underwriting Counsel and Business Unit Leaders, the legal intern will:

Provide in-depth legal research, draft memoranda and articles for Argo Pro.
Assist in identifying and research ongoing exposure trends relative to the Company’s specialty lines of business.
Organize and update underwriting files and policy databases.
Assist product counsel, claims, and business unit leads by drafting initial text and background for memoranda.
Provide other support to Argo Pro that may be required.
QUALIFICATIONS:

Highly effective written & verbal communication skills.
Highly effective legal and commercial research.
Ability to multitask, work under tight time pressures and prioritize.
Ability to work effectively with others at all levels across the organization.
High level of integrity and trust, and ability to maintain confidentiality.
Analytical ability.
Must display a professional demeanor and ability to work in a team environment.
Proficient in the use of computer programs, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
