The Business Intelligence Intern will work directly with the Business Intelligence Reporting Manager and Operational Analytics Vice President. The primary focus of the internship will be coding improvements and features into a crucial application that helps the company optimize revenue. As our business expands, we have new workflows and analyses that need to be coded into our applications. Additionally, the intern will work closely with our Business Intelligence department to re-factor legacy code, implement source control, and normalize style components within reporting to improve absorption of content. This internship is designed to be both educational and practical. In this position, the intern will learn how to take skills she or he have acquired in school and apply them in a professional setting.

Internship Learning Objectives/Task Goals:

Improve our revenue optimization application with high-impact feature additions
Understand how nuances in coding can deliver immense value to an organization
Work with reporting tools and custom applications to cut down cost of business operations
Utilize SQL and Tableau to build and refine reports
Learn the importance of source control within an organization
Minimum Education/Skills/Experience/Credentials:

Intermediate proficiency in modern coding languages (Javascript, PHP, Python, Ruby, etc…)
Intermediate proficiency in SQL or Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
Strong organizational and reporting skills
Demonstrated ability to handle detailed work accurately and quickly, work to deadlines on multiple tasks, and to work as a team member in a collaborative and participatory manner, and to interact with a courteous and professional demeanor
Demonstrated self-learner interested in continued professional development and personal growth.
Must have the ability to maintain confidentiality of all aspects of job responsibilities.
Good interpersonal relations with proven communication skills, both verbal and written.
Must be able to pass a background screening
Availability to commit to 40 hours per week
Intern shall be currently enrolled in a university degree program in Computer Science, with a 3.0 GPA or greater preferred.
