Thursday November 30, 2023The Environmental Intern is a temporary developmental position assisting in department projects to maintain compliance with environmental permits, perform data analysis and other related environmental requirements.

Available Opportunity:

Summer Internship: May – August 2024
 Qualifications:

Must be in student status working towards a degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Biology, Geology, Ecology or related environmental field from an accredited college or university
Cumulative GPA of 2.5 is required, 3.0 or higher is preferred
Key Responsibilities:

Assist department personnel in providing technical support and ownership of environmental programs including NPDES, SPCC, continuous stack emissions monitoring, ambient air and meteorological monitoring, waste disposal, radiation, recycling and environmental training and communication
Assist department personnel in performing inspections and testing to monitor operation of equipment and processes
Assist in the environmental permitting process
Assist writing environmental reports and analyses
Learn applicable environmental regulations and requirements
Other developmental projects as assigned
In addition to the above qualifications, the candidate will: 

Occasionally be available to work outside normal business hours depending on project needs
Occasionally work in the field visiting substations, energy centers, transmission, monitoring locations, transmission distribution sites, and other office locations
 Location: 
This position is based out of the Ameren Headquarters in downtown St. Louis, Missouri.  The work arrangement is hybrid.
