City of San Antonio Student Internship for Spring 2021

The city of San Antonio is now looking for talented, self-motivated and hard-working students to serve as interns. This program is now going to take place in the spring of 2021 in San Antonio, TX.

The primary purpose of this internship is to assist undergraduate, graduate and postgraduate students to gain knowledge, skills, and abilities needed to pursue a successful career and expand the existing expertise of interns.

As a participant of this program, you may assist in the coordination, administration and/or monitoring of specific programs, collecting and organizing data for research, and performing analysis and prepare data for reports.

Apart from this, you will learn and obtain working experience in the area of career interest by observing and assisting professionals in the assigned department where work will be performed.

Eligibility Requirements:

The eligibility requirements are varied:

Student Intern I:

  • Graduation from high school or a General Education Development (GED) Certificate.
  • Must be enrolled in a U.S. Department of Education accredited Associate’s Degree program, vocational or technical school, with the first year of the program completed.

Student Intern II:

  • Graduation from high school or a General Education Development (GED) Certificate.
  • Must be enrolled in the U.S. Department of Education accredited undergraduate degree program.

Student Intern III:

  • Graduation from high school or a General Education Development (GED) Certificate.
  • Must be enrolled in a U.S. Department of Education accredited graduate or postgraduate degree program.

Skills:

Candidates must have the following skills in order to be eligible:

  • Effective interpersonal skills.
  • Skill in operating a personal computer and utilizing rudimentary software.
  • Ability to operate a computer keyboard and other basic office equipment.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively.
  • Ability to gather information for reports.
  • Ability to learn pertinent Federal, State, and local laws and ordinances.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with City staff and the general public.
