Grow what‡s next. Grow your future. Corteva Agriscience is seeking an intern to join the Regulatory Affairs Team in our Johnston business center. As an intern, you will identify and survey regulatory policies and data requirements that may be applicable to genome-edited microbes for agricultural applications, in the U.S. and other select countries. The analysis is expected to highlight challenges, gaps, and specific advocacy areas to facilitate science-based and globally harmonized regulatory paradigms. Analytical thinking and attention to details are important attributes for this project. Understanding the basics and applications of genome editing is strongly preferred.
Responsibilities – What You‡ll Do:
Establish and systematize a collection of regulatory policies applicable to genome-edited microorganisms for agricultural applications, in the U.S. and other select countries.
Analyze policies and associated data requirements; summarize commonalities and differences across jurisdictions and present analysis to Regulatory team.
Collaborate with Regulatory colleagues to identify policy gaps and specific advocacy areas to facilitate science-based and globally harmonized regulatory approach.
Develop one page policy summaries and other explanatory materials related to the use of CRISPR genome editing technology for microbial agricultural applications.
Other projects related to genome editing policies in agriculture may be additionally considered, depending on time and interest.
Qualifications
Qualifications – What You‡ll Bring:
Enrolled in classes for the Fall of 2024.
Completed at least one year of studies before the start of the internship
Able to relocate to Johnston, IA for the duration of the internship
Available to work full-time (40 hours per week) for 6 months between May and December
Creative thinking and ability to work independently and in a team environment
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects/experiments
