Where you‡ll Work: 

This summer internship will be working with the Accredo Product Shared Solutions team.

Accredo is a leading provider of specialty pharmacy services, offering a broad range of healthcare products and services for individuals with chronic health conditions, such as, hemophilia, oncology, multiple sclerosis, and rheumatoid arthritis. Accredo also provides comprehensive patient management services, including clinical care management programs, patient counseling and education, outcomes measurement, social services and reimbursement services.

In this position you will work within the Accredo Product organization.  Our Accredo Specialty Pharmacy Product team is comprised of Pharmacy & Clinical Operations and Product & Strategy.  The Pharmacy & Clinical teams play a key role in keeping us at the forefront of the specialty pharmacy evolution. Pharmacy and Clinical team members are tasked with managing our Therapeutic Resource Centers, specialty drug lists, and Pharma Client relationships. Our Product & Strategy teams plays a key role in creating new and exciting payer client programs, maintaining existing payer client programs, managing copay assistance, and ensuring efficiency in processes across the entire organization. Together all areas help serve patients with complex and chronic health conditions by delivering a level of expertise and individualized care that is unmatched in the market.

What you‡ll do: 

Cigna‡s Internship program is designed to help further develop your skills and give you experience working in a dynamic environment.

This internship will support the Accredo Product team by way of the Shared Solutions Product team specifically. The Shared Solutions product team enables and empowers Accredo Product to meet the broader organizational goals and improve patient care by identifying and leveraging knowledge and efficiencies across the whole team. We provide data insights and improved communication paths to drive smart decision-making. We deliver tools and resources to work smarter, not harder, and we expand multiple products across multiple Therapeutic Resource Centers. The Shared Solutions pipeline of opportunities is ever-growing.

The summer internship will support three Senior Managers and their teams with ad hoc projects related to managing their respective roles and responsibilities within the Shared Solutions team. Some responsibilities include:

  • Researching and analyzing trends
  • Coordinating with the team to ensure smooth execution of projects and deliverables.
  • Conducting data analysis and generating reports to support decision-making processes
  • Providing general administrative support such as scheduling meetings, managing calendars, and organizing files.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive innovation and achieve project objectives.
  • Attending meetings and assisting in the preparation of meeting agendas and presentations.

What you need to do the job:

  • Currently enrolled in a bachelor‡s degree program
  • Junior or senior-level college students with a 3.0 GPA or above preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, solid presentation skills
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively a part of a team
  • Strong business aptitude and analytical skills with an ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
  • Overall passion for learning and interest to learn more about the industry.

Additional Information: 

Location: Hybrid in Saint Louis, MO. This role is Hybrid which allows some work to be performed at home, but we also anticipate that interns may need to come into the office at least three days a week during their internship, but that is subject to change. Geographical preference is for the incumbent to be located in the Saint Louis areas. The internship is paid and housing assistance is not offered.

Work Authorization: One goal of this internship program is to prepare and identify qualified candidates for roles with Cigna post-graduation. Therefore, this temporary internship is open only to individuals who are eligible for employment in the United States and who would not require visa sponsorship now or in the future.

Schedule: You must be available to work a 40-hour work for the duration of the internship. Internship will start May 20th, 2024.

Market Range: For this position, we anticipate offering an hourly rate of $20.00 – $23.00 an hour depending on relevant factors, including experience and geographic location.

If you will be working at home occasionally or permanently, the internet connection must be obtained through a cable broadband or fiber optic internet service provider with speeds of at least 10Mbps download/5Mbps upload.
