Arthrex, Inc. is a global medical device company and a leader in new product development and medical education in orthopedics. The Medical Visualization team in Naples, Florida is responsible for developing interactive applications using emerging technologies for the purpose of educating and assisting surgeons. As well as visually communicating the science behind the medical technology created at Arthrex. We are searching for an intern pursuing a Computer Animation, Digital Arts, Computer Science or Interactive Media degree to support the Medical Visualization team. A successful candidate will assist in the development of 3D graphic applications for marketing, upcoming products, and medical education. The individual will follow standards and guidelines for consistent corporate identity and will take initiative to collaborate with team members effectively and follow preestablished process flows.
This internship will run from May 2024 – August 2024. The ideal candidate will have the availability to work 40 hours per week at our Naples, FL facility.
Main Objective:
To gain real-world experience working as a 3D Technical Artist in a corporate environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Explore emerging visual, VR and AR technologies and Assist in the development of 3D graphics for interactive applications.
Create and Integrate models, assets, lighting, UI Components, Animations, 3D Graphics and Vfx with Realtime graphics applications like Unity and Unreal.
Test new technology and alternative solutions to existing problems.
Work with developers in creating scripts, pipelines or processes for creating realistic visualizations.
Create 3D Visualizations of products, environments, virtual production sets and 3D anatomy.
Create and Modify Materials, shaders, lighting to achieve Realistic Realtime Rendering in 3D Realtime Engines like Unreal or Unity.
This is an in-office position located in Naples, FL; it is not a remote position.
Education and Experience:
A college senior or graduate student pursuing a degree in a related field required, preferably in Digital Arts, Interactive Media, Visual Effects, Computer Animation, Modeling and Simulation, or Computer Science. (Students who have recently graduated are only eligible to work as an intern/co-op up to six months from their graduation date.)
Knowledge and Skill Requirements/Specialized Courses and/or Training:
Knowledge of 3D Modeling, Texturing, Lighting, Materials and Game Engine experience preferred.
Experience with one or multiple of the following technologies preferred:Adobe Suite, Unity, Unreal, Maya, Visual Studio, Omniverse, Pixyz, 3ds Max., Scripting, Rigging,3D Math, 3D Graphics, Substance Designer, Shaders, Virtual Production, 3D Environment Lighting, CAD Visualizations.
Be able to follow written and verbal direction.
Machine, Tools, and/or Equipment Skills:
PC; Familiarity with Microsoft Outlook; PowerPoint; Word and Excel. Fax; Scanner.
