Arthrex, Inc is a global medical device company and leader in new product development and medical education in orthopedics. The Agile team in Santa Barbara, California (ACT) is responsible for supporting Scrum and Agile processes for engineering teams at ACT. We are searching for an intern who is an undergraduate or recent grad, interested and excited about the scrum process to support the Agile team. The successful candidate will co-facilitate scrum ceremonies, analyze data for process improvement among teams, and create scrum training materials while supported by the Agile team. The individual will need strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively facilitate scrum ceremonies and present training materials. They will also need to be attentive and detail oriented while documenting requirements and other important information in Jira (issue tracking software). While ensuring the scrum framework is being followed, they will embody servant leadership and find creative ways to help engineers achieve their goals.

This internship will run from May 2024 – August 2024. The ideal candidate will have the availability to work 40 hours per week at our Santa Barbara, CA facility.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Co-facilitate daily scrum ceremonies including Daily Stand-Up Meetings, Backlog Grooming, Sprint Planning, Demonstrations, and Retrospectives.
Coordinate team building activities for engineering teams.
Create introductory guides on ACT scrum processes to help train new employees during onboarding.
Actively practice servant leadership by helping unblock teams when progress has been halted.
Assist in maintaining organization of software project boards in Jira.
Track project status and interpret metrics to facilitate continuous process improvement.
This is an in-office position located in Santa Barbara, CA; it is not a remote position.
Education and Experience:

Progress towards a college degree in a related field required. (Students who have recently graduated are only eligible to work as an intern/co-op up to six months from their graduation date.)

Knowledge and Skill Requirements/Specialized Courses and/or Training:

Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Interest in Scrum and Agile.
Interest in Software Development, Engineering, and the medical device industry.
Machine, Tools, and/or Equipment Skills:

PC; Familiarity with Microsoft Outlook; PowerPoint; Word and Excel. Fax; Scanner.
