Job Summary:
Dollar Tree is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic IT Operations Intern to join our Corporate IT team. As an intern, you will have the opportunity to work closely with our IT Operations professionals and gain hands-on experience in supporting and maintaining our corporate IT infrastructure. This internship will provide valuable exposure to various aspects of IT operations, including system administration, network management, and technical support.
Responsibilities:
1. User Support: Assist in providing technical support to end-users, including troubleshooting hardware and software issues, resolving user inquiries, and escalating complex problems to appropriate teams.
2. System Administration: Support the administration and maintenance of servers, operating systems, and enterprise applications, ensuring optimal performance and security.
3. Incident Management: Participate in incident management activities, including logging and tracking incidents, coordinating with technical teams for resolution, and ensuring timely incident closure.
4. Change Management: Assist in implementing and managing IT changes, including software deployments, system updates, and configuration changes, following established change management processes.
5. Documentation and Reporting: Assist in maintaining accurate documentation of IT systems, processes, and procedures. Generate reports on system performance, incident trends, and user support metrics.
6. Project Support: Collaborate with the IT Operations team on various projects, such as system upgrades, infrastructure enhancements, and process improvements.
Qualifications:
1. Currently pursuing a degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
2. Strong knowledge of computer hardware, software, and operating systems.
3. Familiarity with networking concepts and protocols.
4. Proficiency in troubleshooting and resolving technical issues.
5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
6. Detail-oriented with strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
7. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
8. Knowledge of ITIL principles and practices is a plus.
