Job Summary:

An exciting opportunity exists for a college graduate to join our Advanced Microelectronics Solutions Department (AMSD) at Raytheon Missiles & Defense in Andover, MA. AMSD develops, designs, and manufactures compound semiconductor devices, microwave/millimeter-wave integrated circuits, and modules for defense applications.

The ideal candidate for this department is interested in semiconductor MMIC technology and will be employed in the areas of wafer fabrication and MMIC manufacturing. The candidate should have strong academic credentials and experience working in a team environment. The ideal candidate will demonstrate not only academic but also interpersonal skills to help optimize our teams. Familiarity with hardware or software tools as appropriate for the candidate‡s academic level is expected.

This position is an onsite role.

Responsibilities to Anticipate:

  • Working in a cleanroom environment
  • Handling GaAs and GaN wafers
  • Assisting with various lithography, deposition, and etch processes
  • Performing and documenting optical microscope inspections
  • Performing scanning electron microscope imaging
  • Failure analysis and Data analysis

Basic Qualifications:

  • Must be a sophomore, junior or senior by the start of summer 2024, enrolled in a Science,
  • Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) Bachelor‡s degree program.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a US security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Enrollment in a Bachelor‡s degree program in one or more of the following: Materials Science,
  • Electrical Engineering, Physics, Chemistry
  • Good written and oral communication skills
  • Strong academic background
  • Highly motivated with good problem-solving skills
  • ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard. 3.0 cumulative GPA desired.
