This position is for an intern who will be entering their freshman and senior year in college by the start of Summer 2024.

We have an intern opening in the CORE (Customer Oriented Results and Excellence) organization at Raytheon facilities located in Portsmouth, RI and Andover, Tewksbury, or Woburn MA.

As a CORE Operating System intern, you will acquire an understanding of what is required to drive overall business performance.  You will help to ensure programs meet customer objectives by working closely with other functions to analyze, understand, and address business process performance improvement opportunities through the application of a variety of CORE methods, including process mapping and root cause analysis, and corrective action. You will work in a results-based culture with a strong focus on continuous improvement.

You will experience problem-solving while working in a collaborative team environment.  Your work will involve planning, coordination, facilitation, analysis, and change management to achieve Improvement Targets associated with Raytheon‡s Goals and Initiatives.  You will learn what it takes to provide continuous improvement expertise to meet tactical and strategic objectives.  You may work at all levels of the organization to help drive results utilizing analytical capabilities, communications, and change management skills.

This position is an onsite role.

Responsibilities to Anticipate:

  • Analyze and interpret business process performance data and associated trends.
  • Participation in root cause analysis, corrective action solutions
  • Support in-process and the kick-off of new CORE engagements that impact business metrics.
  • Provide support to the overall execution of the CORE Operating System (Goal Alignment, Framework
  • Maturity assessment and improvement, deployment metrics, and communications)

This position can be an internship based on the candidate’s qualifications and standing as outlined below:

  • Freshman Technical or Administrative Intern – must be enrolled in a bachelor‡s degree program.
  • Sophomore Technical or Administrative Intern – must have completed 30 credit hours by start of the internship.
  • Junior Technical or Administrative Intern – must have completed 60 credit hours of college by start of the internship.
  • Senior Technical or Administrative Intern – must have completed 90 credit hours of college by start of the internship.

Basic Qualifications:

Pursuing bachelor‡s degree in the field of Engineering, Science, Mathematics, Systems Information, Business Management, Operations Management, Data Science, or Information Technology
The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government-issued security clearance is required.  U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Minimum GPA of 3.0 or above
  • Analytical skills in root cause analysis and corrective
  • Ability to build effective relationships through partnering, collaboration, and communication.
  • Experience in continuous improvement processes such as Six Sigma and/or Lean Methodologies
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0 or above
  • Ability to operate in a dynamic and challenging, team-oriented environment.

  • Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products.
  • Hybrid: Employees who are working in Hybrid roles will work regularly both onsite and offsite.  The ratio of time working onsite will be determined in partnership with your leader.
  • Remote: Employees who are working in Remote roles will work primarily offsite (from home).  An employee may be expected to travel to the site location as needed.
