The Construction Management Intern is responsible for supporting ENGIE‡s Capital Projects team, concentrated on lifecycle and expansion projects for The Ohio State University‡s Utility System. The ideal candidate has an interest in obtaining practical experience working in energy infrastructure.
This position is located at Columbus, OH on the Ohio State University and will report to the Senior Project Manager.
What you‡ll do:
Assist the Capital Projects team as assigned
Areas of possible work assignments include job site visits during active construction, monitoring progress, developing reports and organizing data
Utilize field data, review, and opine on contractor pay requests and provide necessary adjustments to the expected completion date and project cost
Support the construction safety culture and program
What you bring:
A minimum one (1) year completed course work within construction management, engineering, or related field required
A minimum GPA of 2.5 or higher preferred
Knowledge of safety policies
Proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel
Strong organizational, prioritization, interpersonal, and time management skills
Negotiating skills and general business acumen (including technical, legal, commodity risk, quantitative and economic analysis skills)
Demonstrated ability to take initiative
Must be currently enrolled at Ohio State University
Additional Information/Conditions:
The internship term will be approximately September 2023 – May 2024, 10 hours per week minimum, and additional hours and weeks may be available based on business need
Must be willing and able to comply with all ENGIE ethics and safety policies
Ability to meet highest attendance requirements
Ability to communicate effectively
Ability to handle multiple assignments on a timely basis with a high degree of accuracy
Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time
Ability to use stairs and/or ladders in an industrial facility
