This role will be performed on-site at our Utica, NY facility.

Team Description: The goal of CONMED‡s Environmental Health & Safety team is to protect workers from job-related injuries and illnesses, identify and mitigate physical, chemical, and biological hazards in the workplace, improve training and communications, ensure environmental compliance, and support corporate sustainability initiatives such as ISO14001 and ESG.

Internship Responsibilities & Duties

Autonomously lead 1 main project throughout the course of the internship program while simultaneously working to support other aspects of CONMED‡s Environmental Health & Safety program.
Develop and present project summaries to clearly communicate the status, projected impact, and timelines for the project that you own.
Work closely with EH&S Manager to prepare training guides and conduct training with employees in safety procedures, perform inspections, and audits of facilities and recommend actions to correct hazardous situations.
Coordinate with manufacturing support functions (Factory Support, Facilities, Quality/Regulatory) to accomplish various cross-functional tasks.
Position Requirements:  

Pursuing completion of a bachelor’s or master‡s degree in environmental sciences, occupational safety, biology, chemistry or other related fields.
Must be available to work onsite out of the Utica, NY facility (525 French Road, Utica, NY 13502)
Must be available to work forty hours per week, Monday – Friday, May 20 – July 26, 2024. Preference will be given to candidates who are available to extend their internship duration through the end of 2024.
Disclosure as required by applicable law, the hourly pay rate for this position is $17.00 to $29.75. The actual compensation may vary based on geographic location, work experience, education and skill level. The salary range is CONMED‡s good faith belief at the time of this posting.
