What to Expect

Disclaimer: This is a 6 month internship, expected to start January 2024 and continue through June/July 2024. We ask for a minimum of 18 weeks, full-time, for most internships. Please consider before applying.

International Students: If your work authorization is through CPT, please consult your school on your ability to work 40 hours per week before applying. Again, please do not apply until you know you can work 40 hours per week. This is required for external applicants. Many students will be limited to part-time during the academic year.

Tesla is looking for a Data Engineer to join the Energy Asset Management team responsible for preparing data for analytical and operational uses across all of energy products. The team builds and maintains data pipelines that consolidate data from different systems into a structured format that can be consumed by the team to build reports, dashboards and drive decisions.

What You‡ll Do

Deploy data pipelines that transforms data into structure output for analytics in a robust, efficient and scalable framework
Build tools and frameworks to help users summarize and explore the data
Automate reporting and data quality checks
Provide ongoing support for deployed pipelines

What You‡ll Bring

Bachelor‡s degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent in experience
Strong knowledge of SQL and Python
Demonstrated experience building data pipelines using Airflow
Working knowledge of Spark and big data processing
Experience with Git or other source control software
Scala experience is a plus

Expected Compensation

$15.00 – $26.00 + benefits

Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
