As a Firmware Test Engineer  in the Solid State Drives (SSD) group at Micron Technology, you will develop test plans, test cases and infrastructure to validate and verify firmware for Solid State Drives using NAND Flash memory. This involves creating test plans and designing automated white-box and black-box tests to fully test the security implementations for new high-performance mass storage controllers. Your tests will be used to verify the security protocol implementations meet industry standards as well as verifying the SSDs do not have any security vulnerabilities. You can expect to work closely with engineering project management, fellow firmware test engineers, firmware developers, and system hardware design engineers to solve cross-functional design issues.

Creating test plans and strategies to improve firmware quality and test coverage.
Developing automated testing procedures and infrastructure to improve coverage and efficiency.
Developing Grey/white-box/black-box oriented testing methods to verify and validate firmware product.
Analyzing and triaging test failures, performance, and quality data related to firmware products.
Establishing working relationships with firmware development engineers to improve code quality.
Successful candidates for this position will have:

Minimum Bachelors in Electronics & Communications Engineering or Computer Engineering or Computer Science, M.Sc. in these fields is preferred.
Experience with test script development using Python or a similar language (Preferred)
Storage industry experience and experience with NVMe, or SATA, or SAS protocol. (Preferred)
Knowledge of test automation, testing methodologies, and test tools.(Preferred)
The US base salary range that Micron Technology estimates it could pay for this full-time position is:

$33.53 – $44.30

Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location.  The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries of the position across all US locations.  Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional job-related factors, including knowledge, skills, experience, tenure and relevant education or training.  The pay scale is subject to change depending on business needs.  Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process. Additional compensation may include benefits, discretionary bonuses and equity.
