The Global Operations Space Management staff provides tactical and strategic workplace planning, relocation assistance, and design services for several key US facilities.  This Space Planner Intern will be responsible for learning and assisting with:

Program requests for renovations, oversee space utilization and provide interior design support of mixed use space in the South region of the US.
Partnering with Business Units (BUs) to understand and analyzed space/program requirements and provide conceptual space plans/test fits and recommendations to the BU user groups.
Interpreting customer requests, define the scope of work for Facilities Engineering estimates and develop AutoCAD drawings for demo/renovations.
Administering the Archibus database which provides the space allocation data used for metrics and reports.

Job Description

Key member of a small Space Mgmt. team to drive modernization and utilization of Brevard county sites.
Candidate will be involved in several space planning projects at one time and will work in a diverse and changing environment supporting many internal and external customers simultaneously. In addition, will work closely with Maintenance and Operations teams.
Support the forecast, development and tracking of capital and expense budgets for the corporation.
This role will require strong skills in: strategic facilities space planning and facilities standards

Qualifications

Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in architecture, design, industrial engineering or related field
GPA of 3.0 or greater

Preferred Skills:

Experience with Archibus and AutoCAD
Licensed interior designer or architect
Facilities certifications (FMP – Facilities Mgmt. Professional, CFM – Certified Facilities Mgr., LEED AP)
Knowledge of applicable laws/regulations including those mandated by OSHA, ADA, NFPA, NEC, EPA, local Building Codes.
Experience working with engineering blueprints, process specifications and building layouts.
Self-starter with good written, verbal communication and presentation skills
Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills (verbal and written).
Ability to effectively present information.
Ability to provide efficient, timely, reliable and courteous service to customers.
Strong organizational and analytical skills.
Microsoft Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, Visio)
Understand process improvement, and project management — estimating, project schedule, construction, troubleshooting, and problem solving
