The internship program inspires tomorrow‡s innovators by developing highly motivated students who are ready for challenging assignments in the following areas:

Biofuels Reporting & Analysis:

Generate compliance packets for delivered sales
Build out an RPA for inbound supplier Bill of Lading
Track and report on third party contract progress
RPA validation and process BOL receipts
Conduct freight work bench rate verification and approvals
Commercial Business Analysis & Reporting:

Assist the Business Analysis & Reporting, Compliance and Trading Analytics group.
Conduct research, analysis, reporting and PowerBI maintenance/reporting for Compliance related items.
Assist with development and maintenance of recons, reports and analytical tools.
Demurrage Reporting & Analysis:

Process demurrage claims; review and counter claims submitted to Valero with an overall goal of demurrage cost reduction.
Negotiate claim reduction and settlement with customers in a professional manner to maintain mutually beneficial commercial relationships
Properly document claims and input into SAP for secondary cost management
Effectively communicate with Schedulers/ Traders regarding claims and contract language review
This position is hourly nonexempt status, which means you are eligible for overtime pay.
Qualifications
Currently pursuing bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Management Science, Statistics, Economics, Finance, Business or related field required.
Overall GPA of 3.0 (or higher) on a 4.0 scale preferred.
Obtained at least 60 credit hours by the start of the internship required.
Graduation date between December 2024 to May 2025 required.
Ability to work 20+ hours per week during the fall and spring semesters and 40 hours per week during the summer required.
This is an onsite, in-person internship at the Valero Headquarters in San Antonio.  Candidates are required to live within commuting distance to San Antonio, TX.
Knowledge and proficiency in MS Excel required.
Experience using PowerBI preferred.
