 What you will do  
Johnson Controls invites you to apply for a Data Scientist internship in our People Analytics practice located in Milwaukee, WI. This internship is designed to provide you with a positive work/training experience and challenging objectives. Specific identified internship responsibilities are outlined below.
How you will do it:   
10-12 week full-time internship with a hybrid schedule (3-4 days in office)
Find patterns and trends in datasets to uncover insights. Create algorithms and data models to forecast outcomes. Use machine learning techniques to improve the quality of data or product offerings.
Potential Project: Organizational Network Analysis (ONA)
In every organization, people build informal “go-to” teams. They rely on that one person who always knows “how we do things here.” They find someone in finance who can answer any budget question. These spontaneous, critically important connections are the lifeblood of organizations worldwide.
Organizational Network Analysis (ONA) is a structured way to visualize how communications, information, and decisions flow through an organization. Organizational networks consist of nodes and ties, the foundation for understanding how information in your organization is flowing, can flow, and should flow.
Job Duties: 
Provide analytic support as needed for all practice areas within People Analytics
Active participation on team calls, meetings, projects
Attend daily stand-up meetings.
Weekly meetings with Director
Create an internal network beyond members of the internship program.
Active learning about current HR data and applications stack
Develop understanding of HR process and programs.
Identify opportunities to embed people analytics in decision-making.
Introduce new software, methods, ideas to the People Analytics team.
Form strong relationships with other members of the summer 2024 internship program.
Actively seek out data opportunities/ideas, learn as much as possible.
Duration: This will be a full-time summer 2024 internship.
 What we look for  
Required Qualifications:  
Currently enrolled as a full-time student at an accredited U.S. college or university
Pursuing a degree in Data Science, Data/analytics, Computer Science, Applied mathematics, IO Psychology, Statistics, Software Engineering, Information Technology.
Currently a (junior) status
GPA requirement (3.0)
U.S. citizen or legal right to work in the U.S.
Preferred Qualifications:   
Demonstrates an ability to learn quickly and independently
Strong communication skills (verbal and written) preferred
Demonstrated problem solving skills required
Hands-on experience (minimum two academic semesters or equivalent) using any of the following: SQL, Python, R.
