Overview

Come build community, explore your passions and do your best work at Microsoft with thousands of University interns from every corner of the world. This opportunity will allow you to bring your aspirations, talent, potential—and excitement for the journey ahead.

This opportunity will allow you to source, select, and qualify the suppliers and components used in Microsoft technologies and products. Sourcing Engineers are responsible for sourcing strategies that ensure the right suppliers are engaged with the technology, cost, and service Microsoft needs to bring our hardware to market. You will evaluate supplier capabilities and capacity to deliver reliable components and materials at a competitive cost. You will also work closely with suppliers to improve processes, production technologies, and materials as needed to meet Microsoft‡s specifications. You investigate alternate component technologies or suppliers for improved quality, security, and reliability, as well as reduced cost, and more sustainable and responsible sourcing practices. Sourcing Engineers engage with engineering design teams early in the design process to influence decision-making related to materials, components, or services and optimize costs.

At Microsoft, Interns work on real-world projects in collaboration with teams across the world, while having fun along the way. You‡ll be empowered to build community, explore your passions and achieve your goals. This is your chance to bring your solutions and ideas to life while working on cutting-edge technology.

Microsoft‡s mission is to empower every person and every organization on the planet to achieve more.
