This position is for an Electrical Engineer intern to work in the Advanced Controls & Technologies, DEPARTMENT 22, Hardware Engineering Directorate for the Raytheon Intelligence & Space (RIS) Business Unit.  This team designs and develops optics, Radio Frequency and test equipment. Hardware Engineering provides engineering, technology development, and manufacturing support for an extensive line of airborne and ground-based systems.

This position can be based out of El- Segundo / Goleta California or McKinney /Dallas Texas

As an Electrical Engineer intern, you may be involved in supporting any of the following activities:

Digital design with embedded real-time processors and FPGA components, including development of communication and signal processing algorithms

Simulate, implement and debug hardware, including digital, analog, and power electronics circuits.

Perform circuit analysis, circuit simulation, design documentation maintenance.

Support troubleshooting of hardware for test and verification.

Support development of Special Test Equipment (STE) for testing Electronics equipment.

Perform testing on prototype hardware.

Interact with test technicians, suppliers, program managers, other engineers, and internal/external customers.

Utilizes various engineering and scientific drawings, manuals and other related documentation in the performance of their tasks.

Performing tests using a wide variety of electronic, electromechanical, and mechanical, optical, computer, laboratory and scientific systems and/or equipment.

Security Clearance & Other Requirements:

U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position will need a U.S. Security Clearance within 1 year of start date.

Requirements:

Experience working in a lab environment with standard EE lab equipment (i.e., Spectrum Analyzers, Power Meters, Oscilloscopes, Logic Analyzer, Multi-meters, RF Signal Generators).

Basic understanding of embedded systems.

Basic understanding of analog design concepts

Experience working within a team environment.

Experience with MS Office tool suite

Experience with basic EE design simulation – Spice (or equivalent).

Desired Requirements:

Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA (Please upload an unofficial transcript when applying)

Have strong technical aptitude as shown by strong grades or hands on lab experience

Be a hands-on person with ability to work with hardware and lab equipment

Demonstrated leadership experience through school or extracurricular projects

Required Education:

Currently pursuing a Bachelor‡s degree and working towards a degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent technical discipline
