As an intern, you will be part of a Project / Portfolio Management and Business Operations team in the newly formed Roche/Genentech Pharma Technical Cell and Gene Therapy organization (PTC). The successful candidate will be part of a cross-functional team, responsible for process development, manufacture, and supply of individualized Neoantigen Specific Immunotherapies (iNeST) that are manufactured on a per-patient basis. This is an exciting and growing part of Genentech’s new modalities portfolio and is a growing segment of the Pharma/Biotech industry.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Create and manage individualized cell and gene therapy project plans, timelines, and milestones utilizing Smartsheet/Tableau (or similar) and support decision-making and agreements within the project team.
Partner with Team Leads and Project Managers to proactively manage both internal and joint teams to achieve deliverables, identify and manage critical path activities, budget tracking, and ensure risk mitigation plans are identified and implemented.
Create portfolio reports utilizing Tableau or Spotfire
Manage technical and operational cross-functional teams, meetings, and work packages in collaboration with our external partners and contract manufacturers
Provide meeting planning, facilitation, and documentation to drive productive project team meetings, meet desired outcomes, are summarized and action items are tracked
Create and implement new business processes needed for managing a technical development portfolio of individualized medicines and contribute to continuous business process improvement.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
Must have knowledge in genomics capabilities: RNA, DNA, nucleic acid extraction, PCR, WES, RNA Seq , etc.. example :
Executed proof-of-concept experiments to engineer a DNA polymerase for future application in DNA damage analysis @ The Beuning Lab, in partnership with ROUTES NEU
● Performed molecular biology techniques, e.g. PCR, sequencing primer design, molecular cloning, gel
electrophoresis, nucleic acid extraction (MiniPrep), bacterial protein expression, transformations
● Prepared monthly progress reports to summarize experimental results and track action items to meet
desired outcomes and discuss troubleshooting options
Must be a recent graduate in the life sciences with an interest in the Pharmaceutical/Biotech industry.
Demonstrated proficiency in the application of project management and data visualization tools (e.g. Smartsheet or MS Project, google-suite, Tableau, or Spotfire)
Have good organizational, verbal, and written communication skills.
Experience leading a team or organizing an event – project coordination and agile/lean project management experience a plus
Highly motivated, be able to work independently as well as in a team
Ability to work in a dynamic and high-paced environment.
