POSITION SUMMARY:
The individual will be responsible for assisting on various Federal, State, and Local tax research and planning projects.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Researching Federal, State, and Local tax laws
Understanding, analyzing, and reviewing corporate transactions
Researching tax implications of various planning scenarios
May also include quantitative and clerical work Conduct research and provide documentation in support of company‡s tax planning initiatives and tax return positions
Monitor tax law changes and assist with the implementation of internal restructurings transactions
Organize and document restructuring and other planning initiatives including the preparation of PowerPoints slides, work plans or project timelines, project binders, and internal file memos
EDUCATION, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Enrolled in an MST or LL.M program
Interested in a tax planning career
Tax legal research skills – Bloomberg BNA, CCH AnswerConnect, RIA Checkpoint and Lexis/Nexis
Accounting and analysis skills
Strong computer skills – including knowledge of Excel and Word
Good organizational skills
Nine-month Term-Internship – must be available for part-time internship during the school year
