The IT Risk and Assurance Intern will be responsible for IT risk and assurance engagements to assist clients in reducing overall business risk and improving the IT security and controls of the organization. We are seeking someone with exceptional attention to detail, time management, and strong communication skills. This individual will work directly with the IT Risk & Assurance Director and team for all consulting and attestation engagements

This is a part-time internship position, the intern is expected to work a minimum of 20/hrs a week.

Essential Functions and Primary Duties

Assist with engagements that assess the design and operating effectiveness of IT processes and controls to meet client objectives including alignment with frameworks and compliance with laws and regulations
Support the IT risk and assurance team when making assessments to evaluate security, availability, processing integrity, confidentiality,  and privacy Trust Service Criteria
Work with management during consulting engagements, risk, and gap assessments, which may include activities in testing, training, plan development and process improvement
Participate in evaluations that define client requirements for IT risk & assurance projects
Develop and maintain an excellent working relationship with all levels of client staff to increase customer satisfaction and to strengthen client relationships
Attend industry meetings to market CBIZ services
Prepare technical papers that will market CBIZ capabilities
A successful candidate will have

Working towards a Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems / IT Security or related field preferred
Active participation in student organizations or work experience in related field is a plus, but not required
Excellent interpersonal, analytical, research and project management skills
Demonstrated ability to communicate verbally and in writing throughout all levels of organization, both internally and externally
Ability to multi-task, think independently and problem solve in a results driven team oriented environment
Strong verbal and written communications skills
Strong computer and technical skills including, Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook, intranet and appropriate software
